How Long has ESOTERIC Been in Business?

ESOTERIC began as a passion for detailing that started in the early 1980s. It started with BMX bikes, specifically Torker bikes, and grew to include motorcycles and eventually cars.

Todd Cooperider, the Founder and President of ESOTERIC, became interested in automotive detailing in the early 2000s. This passion quickly grew as he began detailing cars for friends and family.

He had visited multiple tint shops in the Columbus area. He was shocked by the low quality of work, unprofessional behavior, and the shops’ disregard for basic automotive detailing principles.

After doing some quick research, he quickly realized that there was nobody in the greater Columbus area providing high-level automotive detailing that he would want as a customer.

So in July of 2009, ESOTERIC was legally formed.

Why set up a PPF shop in Cleveland?

Over the years, we have always had customers from all over the USA bring their cars to us for detailing, paint protection film, window tint, and ceramic coatings, and Cleveland was a hot spot of activity. We had great relationships with a lot of loyal customers from NE Ohio, and our research told us that there simply wasn’t anyone in that market offering the same level of quality and customer service that we had been doing in Columbus for 15 years.

Additionally, we had relationships established with some of the finer car dealerships in Cleveland as they regularly shipped their customers cars down to us for our services. We have a very active dealer business that we do, and we knew that we could have an immediate impact with them as well.

And finally, Todd’s wife is originally from Cleveland, his business partner Dan’s wife is from Cleveland, and other business partner Zack was from the Canton / Akron area.

So then in summer of 2024, ESOTERIC Cleveland was opened in Bedford Heights to offer the absolute best paint protection film PPF, detailing, ceramic coating, and window tinting services in NE Ohio!

They’re all the same! Back in the early days of PPF, 3M was the big player and the name of their product was “Clear Bra”. Just like Kleenex is to facial tissues, the term Clear Bra was universally used to refer to paint protection film. You will hear it referred to as PPF, paint protection film, clear bra, PPF wrap, clear wrap, etc. Granted, there’s a wide variety of brands out there, and just like anything else, some are not as good as others and don’t look as good on the cars.
